MAX.

Is 6 months old! It is crazy! That tiny newborn that is shown here is getting bigger. He was so much fun to photograph with his mama and daddy a couple of weeks ago. He has such a fun personality and seems like such a happy baby. I hope you all enjoy!

EXCITING NEWS!

So, I can finally let you all know what I have been working on!

When I was in college, I met a lady for coffee to interview her for an article I was writing for a class.  She is an author and had written a book dealing with an issue I was covering. Little did I know,  that coffee would lead to a great friend!

Recently this talented woman,  Laura L. Smith, came out with a new book series.
When she told me about it, we began chatting about what kind of photos she was looking for as covers and she asked me to work on shoots for the four books!

Naturally, I said yes and started working right away.

Today, I can show you the first two books in the series! These shoots were so fun to put together. Big thanks to Laura as well as Courtney, Kaitlyn, Jelena and Courtney!

I give you...

It's Complicated releases 04/01

There’s a reason Facebook has the relationship status, “It’s Complicated.” Follow four college roommates, Claire, Palmer, Hannah and Kat as they maneuver crushes, confusion, and the crisis when pushy boys go too far. Complicated as it is, these four friends will pull through, guided by the strength of their friendship and the power of God’s love.

and It's Over is out on 04/20

How can you move on when it’s over?

When four college roommates lose pieces of their lives, the pain isolates and the tension rises. Emotions are hard to hide and even harder to tackle. How can the girls move forward, when there is so much pain in letting go? Together, Claire, Kat, Palmer and Hannah learn to lean on God and each other, and through it all they learn loss is a part of life.

Yvonne emailed me one day last June to talk about photographing her wedding.  She had already been married to her hubby for almost two years, but never had the chance to have a big ceremony since he was in the military.  He was deployed for 265 days this year and she was trying to plan everything while he was gone, so when he got back it would all be ready to go.  She booked the venue, had the dress, figured out everything down to the last detail and then Neil's leave dates changed.  We talked and scrambled and changed a few plans and got me in town earlier than the original ceremony date to get some photos taken.

We decided to take some anniversary pictures as well as photos of them in what they would've been wearing at their wedding [in 33 degrees. might I add].  Yowza, do they look good together or what?!

It is impossible not to feel the love these two have for each other when you are around them.  Yvonne and Neil met a few years ago through Neil's sister-in-law and basically knew they were meant for each other from the start.  Two months later, they went to the courthouse to make it official; they were husband and wife. Two years, and one nine month deployment, later they are still so very much in love.

Happy [early] anniversary you two, here's to many many more!

SARAH.

What a beautiful person inside and out.  Sarah and I have been friends since our Freshman year of college and, by some wonderful chance of luck, both ended up in the DC area.  It has been so nice having her here.  We had a little photo session this past weekend and had a blast.

Sars, you're a babe.  Don't ever forget it.

RAMBLINGS AND SAN DIEGO.

I've been working on some shoots and editing, so this week's post is going to be light.
I am putting a few pictures up from my visit to San Diego a couple of months ago.

Check out next Monday for a new shoot.

Don't forget that mini sessions are available until 11/16! You don't have to use the session by the 16th, you just have to schedule it by then.  They are great for your holiday card or a great present to gift to someone else for the Holidays. Feel free to email me with any questions!

Also, I've been challenging myself to take at least one photo a day and post to instagram, feel free to follow along at @kelcihoouusee

BLYUMIN FAMILY.

It was such a treat to photograph little Max.  He is such a cute baby.
Obviously, he is a Browns fan, even though he didn't seem too happy about it at times ;)
Without further ado, I give you Max and his sweet family.
